Michelle DeYoung

Vice President & Senior Consultant

Michelle DeYoung is Vice-President and Senior Consultant at Restructuring Associates Inc.  She joined RAI in 1994.   Ms. DeYoung served as a Senior Consultant and then Managing Director of Schneider (Australia) Consulting, RAI’s Australian management consultancy, from 2008-2012.

Prior to joining RAI, she spent nine years working in non-profit and for-profit organizations in Australia, South Africa, Great Britain and Spain.  More recently she has lead and consulted for enterprises in developing countries, with her most recent endeavors in India and Indonesia.

Ms. DeYoung has focused on designing and leading organizational transformation performance improvement and redesign efforts in very large unionized organizations, particularly developing labor-management partnerships.  Her industry experience spans the economy and government including healthcare, public utilities, manufacturing, and telecommunications. She has helped develop innovative compensation schemes, has created and delivered training and development plans, and redesigned work processes to support operational improvement and organizational change. She also regularly facilitates conflict resolution efforts and complex collective bargaining. She is a recognized expert in facilitating and using Interest Based processes.

Ms. DeYoung is a sought after speaker and workshop leader at conferences in the USA and internationally on using collaborative processes to improve performance based on interest based processes.  She also speaks at international venues on topics ranging from economic and social development to best practices in the business arena.

Ms. DeYoung received her Master of Science in Economics with Distinction and a Post Graduate Diploma, in International Relations with Distinction from the London School of Economics.  She received a Bachelor of Science with Honors from James Madison University.
