Bell Canada

In the 1990’s following the deregulation of the Canadian telephone industry, RAI was hired to lead a union-management leadership process at Bell Canada to develop a strategic vision of the critical capabilities the company needed to be successful.  RAI then successfully trained and facilitated two separate rounds of interest-based negotiations between Bell Canada and its unions, the Communication, Energy and Paper Workers and the Canadian Telephone Employees Association.

The negotiations turned the strategic vision into new labor agreements. The bargaining was completed in record time with overwhelming ratification in both unions (more than 80%). RAI subsequently helped develop plans to implement the agreements, and then trained a cadre of internal consultants, both union and management, to implement the restructuring.
